Das Trio"Slam"stammt aus Berlin bestehend aus Axina Schönfeld(Jg 73) ,Stefan "Steve"Schleickman(Jg 75) und Sten Mehlhorn(Jg 73).Steven und Sten haben zusammen die Schulbank gedrückt und 1993 gemeinsam das Abitur. Danach traten die zwei als Gruppe "Toasters"mit ihrem selbstgebastelten Raggamuffin-Playbacks in Berliner Kneipen auf. Axina, die in Kanada geboren wurde, war 1994 als Musikstudentin in Berlin und wollte u.a. eine Soulscheibe produzieren. Sie sah Steven und Sten im "Zoo Club"bei einem Aufritt und lud sie zu einer Session ins Studio ihres Produzenten ein. Axina wollte eine Soulplatte Aufnehmen doch Steve und Sten konnten sie für den Dancefloor-Groove begeistern. Die Produzenten die hinter diesem Projekt stehen sind Mike Michaels und Mark"MM"Dollar, aka Triple M. Die Texte wurden von Mike Michaels, MM Dollar, Sten Mehlhorn und A. Schönfeld geschrieben. Bei der Single "U got 2 know" wechselte die Besetztung. Für Steve kam Giorgio(Jg72) (Rap und Keyboard).Eine Ausnahme ist die erste Single "We get around". Die wurde von einem komplett anderen Team geschrieben, produziert und gesungen. Den Text schrieben Wildgrove und Samira Besic die auch gesungen hat. Ich habe leider keine Ahnung wer den Rappart übernahm. Produziert wurde das Lied von Marky.T und Willigerodh.

The trio “Slam” is from Berlin. Axina Schoenfeld, Stefan “Steve” Schleickman and Sten Mehlhorn are the group members. Steven and Sten went to school together and got their college degree in 1993. After that, they made their own group called “Toasters” and created a Raggamuffin-Playback that they performed in the pubs of Berlin. Axina, born in Canada, was in Berlin in 1994 as a student in music. She wanted to produce a CD with soul music. She saw Steven and Sten during their gig in a club (called Zoo), and she invited them to a session that took place at her producer’s studio. Axina wanted to record a soul album but Steve and Sten could win her over for the dancefloor groove. The producers behind this project are Mike Michaels and Mark”MM” Dollar, aka Tripple M. The lyrics were written by Mike Michaels, MM Dollar, Sten Mehlhorn and A. Schoenfeld. For the single “U got 2 know” they changed the casting. Now Giorgio (born ’72) was doing rap and keyboards in place of Steve. One exeption is to be found in the single “We get around”. This was written, produced and sung by a different team. The lyrics were written by Wildgrove and Samira Besic. She also sang the song. Unfortunately I don’t know, who took over the rap part.The song was produced by Marky.T and Willigerodh.
